If you publish online, you should know this about google +.

I signed up for google plus because well all of the cool kids are doing it.  I don’t really want another social network.  But if you publish it is must.  I generally release a post in several waves.  I will do it in the morning, it will go to linkedin and facebook.  Then I will roll it out to stocktwits/twitter.  I like to get it to google as soon as possible and see if it picks up any steam and gives me a chance to think about what I wrote with a small amount of people seeing.

The topic of the day was Warren Buffett is a hypocrite when it comes to taxes.  I checked the analytics and I see an organic search “warren buffett  hypocrite on taxes”.  I was slightly shocked.  Generally my blog will pick up search terms because a visitor has been there before.  So I see if this visitor has been to the site before.  They hadn’t been there in the last 90 days.  I did a incognito google search and I was a surprising third.

This helps with GOOG real time search and explains why they did not renew with twitter.  I am sure this feature will disappear or will be crowded out but it is helpful while it lasts.  I have tried doing it on multiple computer and I have showed up immediately verses if I did not use G+.

Let me know if you have the same results.
