Neverisms in trading.

From the archives.
Neverism- things you should never do, never say and never forget.

Never trade with out a plan.

Never trade with money you can’t afford to lose.

Never say the market can’t be beat.

Never say it can’t get worst.

Never forget that trading is a privilege.

Never forget life is always more important than trading.

Never complain about getting stopped out.
Never complain about the other side of the trade.
Never blame Algos for your bad trade placement
Never take other peoples trades on twitter
Never cry about trading

Never forget that lost opportunities are not always last opportunities, with one exception.
Never miss an opportunity to prevent the growth of a big (& maybe tragic) loss from a little one.
Never forget that ALL big losses were once little ones.

Never forget to do all you can to enable calm by the time evening approaches (and if you should ignore this),
Never forget the sun will rise again in the morning, so live and trade accordingly.

Which ones would you add?

We would really appreciate your feedback, if you like, hate, or think we are full of crap. Please leave a comment, a voice mail (312) 725-9121, email info @ traderhabits (dot) com or twitter, stocktwits, youtube and facebook. Subscribe to Traderhabits by email or to newsletter.

Never forget to set your alarm clock…you’ll sometimes encounter prices that you’d beetch about for the rest of the day if you’d been late to your post.

When engaged in trade selection or trade sizing, Never make a commitment that will put you on tilt if it doesn’t work out.

Never put on a trade based on last night’s cool idea for a new trading system. Make sure any gameplan you go with has been fully vetted and backtested.

Never ‘renegotiate’ your stops while in a trade
Never linger on the losers or the lost
Never think you can’t learn one more trick
    Never lose your head

The most predictable part of trading is the blow up.

I apoligize for the tone of this post. As a trader your only job is to be able to trade tomorrow. ...
